About Sarah

I have been working with children, adolescents, adults, and families here in the Bay Area and in New York for over ten years. I am a Marin County native and I have a B.A. in Philosophy and Educational Studies from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine and a Masters in Clinical Social Work from Columbia University. I have experience working with children and youth in the foster care system in New York City as well as providing individual therapy and group therapy for adults struggling with addiction and mental illness in an outpatient program. I have also worked as a clinician at the Masonic Center for Youth and Families in San Francisco where I saw children, teens, adults, and families, and before returning to private practice full-time, I was the school counselor at an independent private high school in San Rafael, CA.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative process and my therapeutic approach is caring, warm, and client-centered. I draw on different treatment modalities based on the needs of my clients and their goals for our work together. My work is strengths-based, relational, and approachable, and I strive to create a safe, confidential, and supportive environment in my office. While I support my clients with a wide range of issues and struggles, I specialize in working with adolescents, young adults, and adults coping with anxiety and depression, as well as parenting challenges, infertility, and women’s health. In addition to my private practice, I provide clinical supervision to intern-therapists at the Community Institute for Psychotherapy in San Rafael.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions about me or my work, and to see if we might be a good fit. I look forward to connecting with you!
